About
Why we roast coffee
SUSTAINABILITY, TRANSPARENCY AND QUALITY
For us, coffee is much more than just a drink - it tells stories, connects cultures and creates encounters that transcend borders. But coffee is also a reflection of global inequalities. Our mission as a sustainable coffee roasting company in Switzerland is to break down colonial structures in the coffee industry and create fairer conditions for everyone involved.
Our aim is to break down colonial structures in the coffee industry and create fairer conditions by promoting partnerships based on fairness, transparency and respect - from producers to consumers. We are fascinated by the incredible variety of flavors that each bean brings. From fruity and floral notes to nutty or chocolaty nuances - our aim is to bring these special worlds of taste to life and create something unique with every cup.
Every bean we roast is the result of hard work, tradition and care. Coffee should not only be a pleasure, but also make the people and cultures behind it visible. Because without the producers and their work, we would be nothing. Our credo: not to take ourselves too seriously.
How we roast
PRECISION AND SUSTAINABILITY
We rely on modern, gentle roasting profiles that emphasize the individual character of each bean. No heavy, dark roasts - just clarity, freshness and lively aromas. Our coffees develop their natural diversity because we work with short, precise roasting times.
Unser Typhoon The Typhoon Fluid Bed roaster allows us to work with maximum control and efficiency. Through direct heat transfer, we emphasize the subtle nuances of the beans and minimize the risk of over-roasting. At the same time, the roaster consumes less energy than conventional drum roasters, making it not only sustainable in terms of taste, but also ecologically.
Responsible procurement and transparency
We focus on direct trade and long-term partnerships with coffee farmers and middlemen. Our supply chain is open and traceable, because transparency is not a buzzword for us, but a lived practice. If direct purchasing is not possible, we work with importers who share our values.
Transparent prices & fair payment:
We publish our purchase prices and rely on sustainable remuneration models that secure a stable income for producers. Only by working closely with the farmers can we guarantee that our coffees not only taste excellent, but have also been grown sustainabl
WHO WE ARE - A TEAM WITH VISION
What once started as a one-man business is now an independent specialty coffee roastery in Switzerland that brings together coffee enthusiasts and conscious consumers. Our espresso bar is run by a diverse team - including women from Ukraine and Russia. Whether carpenters, architects, cooks or housewives - everyone contributes their individual skills, united by a common vision.
Our vision was and is to create a place where everyone feels welcome - a place that invites you to linger and offers space for encounters. This initial idea has now developed into a special meeting place for everyone who appreciates good coffee and exciting stories.

OUR PHILOSOPHY FOR THE FUTURE
But our journey does not end here. We are constantly working to further optimize our processes in order to become even more sustainable and transparent. This applies not only to the pnsumption in our production and the promotion of direct trade relations.
We believe that coffee can be a social link - not only for our customers, but also for the people who grow it. That's why we actively campaign for better working conditions, fair pay and a sustainable future for everyone involved. Because good coffee starts with the people who cultivate it with passion.
More than just coffee - a movement for sustainability, transparency, quality and social responsibility
